Each and every year, the students of Greenwood School District 50 go above and beyond to make a difference in the lives of others. When many students across the country were planning their summer vacations, D50 students were conducting the largest food drive of all time! Aware that food donations are historically low during the summer months, D50 students ensured our oganization had enough food to feed those in need Greenwood County. Because of your generosity, we had more than enough to feed everyone this summer! You ROCK!!!
It’s the Monday after Easter and it’s a business morning at the Food Bank of Greenwood County.
We’ve already sent the truck out to our mobile site in Coronaca and we’re working around the warehouse to get ready to distribute food. That’s when we got this surprise.
Landen and Nehemiahus Wardlaw stopped by the Food Bank to make a donation. We love donations. Donations help us to address food insecurity in Greenwood County.
But, here’s where their donation was different.
These two young men decided to start a lemonade stand. It’s not an easy job to get your business off the ground, but the two made a profit.
And, when they made this profit, they decided to share some of it with others. So, Landen and Nehemiahus decided to help their community and they donated a portion of their earnings to the Food Bank of Greenwood County.
Thank you for the amazing gift and thanks for helping to make it a memorable Monday at the Food Bank!
The Food Bank of Greenwood County greatly appreciates the amazing contributions of our friends, volunteers and partners in our mission of addressing food insecurity in Greenwood County.
